Ark Royal Holdings LLC has announced that Robert H Willis Jr. was appointed president of the company’s board of directors. Willis replaces Dennis G Ruppel, who is now the board’s chairman and chief executive officer.

Willis previously served as secretary and as a director for Ark Royal Holdings’ board since it was formed.

"Ark Royal Insurance is an excellent caretaker of its policyholders, run by a conscientious and steady-handed board of directors," Willis remarked. "A growing pool of high-performing agents represents Ark Royal in Florida, Louisiana and Texas. I assume the presidency of Ark Royal with pride and excitement and look forward with the expectation of continued success and muscular growth."

Willis is a partner at Skelton, Willis & Wallace LLP. He has served as an officer and director of banking, trust, and insurance companies throughout Florida for the past 16 years.

He is a graduate Washington & Lee University. Willis also attended the University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland as a recipient of a Rotary Foundation Educational Award. He is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.

"The board conducted an extensive search among many candidates in the insurance and financial services industries," Ruppel said.

“Given his experience, in other companies, and his highly productive involvement in Ark Royal since its inception, Bob emerged as the clear choice to lead Ark Royal. We are very pleased to have Bob as our president, and we anticipate an active and positive future for the company as we work together to continue Ark Royal's success."

Ark Royal is based in St. Petersburg, Florida.
