Three companies announced senior leadership changes this week, reflecting continued investment across underwriting, marine claims and revenue leadership in the specialty and claims services markets.
Everspan Group, a specialty property and casualty insurance platform that operates as a fronting carrier for managing general agents and program administrators, added three executives to build out dedicated underwriting and reinsurance functions. Sedgwick, the global claims and loss adjusting services provider, secured new Lloyd's surveyor appointments to expand its marine claims footprint on the Gulf Coast. Alacrity, a claims management and recovery solutions provider, named a new chief revenue officer.
Everspan Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Octave Specialty Group, has announced three senior appointments to support its continued growth as a fronting platform.
David Kenyon joined as head of reinsurance on July 31. Bevan Greibesland will join as chief underwriting officer on August 10, followed by Forest Clay Stewart as chief operating officer on August 17. All three will report to Darwin Lucas, president of Everspan Group.
The appointments establish dedicated leadership for Everspan's underwriting and reinsurance functions, which were previously overseen as a combined role - a structural change worth noting for MGAs and program administrators partnering with Everspan, since a dedicated reinsurance head typically signals a platform is scaling its fronting capacity and formalizing how risk gets ceded, rather than managing it as a secondary function alongside underwriting.
"As we execute our plans to grow and expand Everspan's portfolio, we are investing in the leadership and specialized capabilities needed to support that growth," said Lucas. He added that Stewart, Greibesland and Kenyon bring deep expertise in their respective areas, and that their addition will strengthen the company's ability to scale the business while maintaining the underwriting discipline and operational focus central to its strategy.
Kenyon brings more than 25 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, most recently leading reinsurance placement and operations for Zurich North America, with prior senior roles at Swiss Reinsurance America, GE Global Insurance and Kemper National Insurance Company. He will be based in Chicago.
Greibesland has more than 20 years of experience spanning program business, delegated authority and specialty underwriting, joining from HDI Global, where she led the company's US delegated authority and specialty businesses, with prior roles at Blitz Insurance, Global Indemnity and Nationwide. She will be based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Stewart brings 20 years of experience in operations, business transformation and technology, joining from Chubb, where he served as vice president, target operating model leader and principal product owner, with prior roles at Deloitte and SEI. He will be based in New York and Philadelphia.
Sedgwick has secured Lloyd's Surveyor Agency appointments for Houston and New Orleans, strengthening the company's ability to support marine clients across two of the most significant ports in the United States.
A Lloyd's Surveyor Agency appointment is a designation awarded to top-tier marine surveyors and claims adjusters within the Lloyd's market, with appointed agencies serving as trusted local resources across major ports and commercial centers worldwide.
The appointments recognize Sedgwick's technical expertise in critical maritime markets. Houston supports significant energy, petrochemical, offshore and project cargo activity, while New Orleans serves as a gateway for Mississippi River, bulk cargo, grain and barge-related operations.
For brokers placing marine cargo or hull business through Lloyd's in these two ports specifically, the credential offers a concrete point of quality assurance when recommending a claims-handling partner to clients, since it reflects a standard Lloyd's itself has vetted.
"The Lloyd's Surveyor Agency appointments for Houston and New Orleans represent an important recognition of our marine team's expertise and our significant and expanding role in the global marine insurance marketplace," said Darin Miller, national director, marine, at Sedgwick.
Miller added that Sedgwick's teams understand the unique challenges across the Gulf Coast markets, which underscores the company's ability to provide independent reporting and technical excellence when clients need it most.
Ronnie Adcock, global practice leader, marine, at Sedgwick, said the appointments strengthen the company's ability to support the Lloyd's market with high-quality service in two of the world's most important maritime hubs, reinforcing Sedgwick's commitment to delivering the technical expertise, local market knowledge and timely support that Lloyd's syndicates, brokers and international insurers expect from a trusted partner.
Alacrity, which provides claims management and property restoration recovery solutions to insurers, has named Tony Triola as chief revenue officer.
"His experience leading transformational initiatives makes him an outstanding addition to our executive team," said John Hall, chief executive officer of Alacrity. The company said Triola's leadership is expected to strengthen client relationships, expand market opportunities and support its claims management and recovery solutions as Alacrity continues investing in its people, technology and service offerings.
