Resilience, Penn Mutual, Specialty Program Group, Brown & Riding and CRC Group announced leadership changes and new hires this week, according to company news releases.
The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. has named Wade Harrison (pictured top, left) president, the 20th in the company’s history. He will lead the Enterprise Leadership Team and oversee day-to-day business. Dave O’Malley remains chairman and CEO.
“Wade brings deep industry knowledge, extensive experience, and a strong connection to our purpose and commitment to mutuality,” O’Malley said.
“I’m honored to join Penn Mutual and a company with such a distinguished history, clear sense of purpose, and enduring commitment to policyholders,” Harrison said.
Harrison has more than 30 years of life insurance experience, most recently as vice chairman and chief operating officer of Protective Life.
CRC Group has added three professionals to CRC Specialty. Clay Davis has joined as a broker in Boca Raton, Florida, with more than a decade of wholesale property brokerage experience. Blake Matthews (pictured top, right) has joined as an underwriter in Tampa, Florida, with more than eight years in the industry. Ari Mulaj has joined as a senior underwriting team lead.
Insurance Business reported in August that CRC Specialty hired four specialists across Florida, Texas and South Carolina. In October, CRC added three underwriting leads.
Resilience has named Chris Pitcher head of North America underwriting strategy and operations and promoted Alex Carleton to US distribution leader. The cyber risk company said the moves bring underwriting strategy and broker distribution in the US and Canada under unified leadership.
“By aligning North American distribution, underwriting strategy, and operations under Chris’ leadership, we are giving brokers a clearer view of our appetite and a quicker path to coverage that fits their clients’ risk,” said George Kotsiopoulos, president of insurance at Resilience.
Pitcher, who reports to Kotsiopoulos, joined Resilience in 2025. He previously spent a decade at Arch Insurance, most recently as assistant vice president and head of cyber at Arch Insurance Canada. Carleton joined in 2022 as western regional manager. He will lead relationships with retail and wholesale broker partners across the US.
Specialty Program Group has appointed Victoria “Vicky” Dearing senior vice president of SPG ExecuPro, its executive and professional liability unit within SPG Wholesale.
Dearing has more than 45 years of insurance experience, including more than three decades in professional liability, the company said.
“Vicky’s addition to SPG ExecuPro is a defining moment for our team,” said Amanda Sedliak, president of SPG ExecuPro.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the SPG ExecuPro team and begin this next chapter of my career,” Dearing said.
Brown & Riding said Matthew Allen has joined its national management & professional liability practice. Allen has more than 15 years of industry experience. He specializes in directors and officers, employment practices, fiduciary and crime coverage for private and nonprofit organizations.
“Matthew brings deep market knowledge across management, professional, and cyber liability, along with a real talent for finding solutions for complex and hard-to-place risks,” said Jeff Rodriguez, president and CEO.
“I’m excited to join a firm built on true specialization,” Allen added.
