Ironshore hires war, terror sector veteran to boost APAC team

The global insurer has hired 10-year veteran James Hill to oversee the development of war and terrorism insurance products

Ironshore International has named industry veteran James Hill as its new underwriting manager of terrorism, political violence and war for the Asia Pacific region.
 
Based in Ironshore’s Singapore office, Hill will be responsible for establishing the company’s presence throughout the region in his specialty line of business. He will be reporting to Hui Yun Boo, Ironshore managing director for Asia Pacific.
 
“James will oversee the development of Ironshore War and Terrorism product offerings throughout the region in line with growing our regional footprint,” Boo said.
 
“His depth of expertise and established industry relationships will enable him to build an experienced team of underwriters, further positioning Ironshore as a sector leader within specialty lines of business.”
 
Hill has 10 years of experience in the war and terrorism insurance sector. In 2007, he joined Wills Limited where he started as a broker in the London office within the global markets international and global energy divisions. He was a part of the Willis’ Singapore management as an executive director of the Willis Asia Group.
 
As head of crisis management for Willis in Asia, he built the company’s terrorism model and expanded its use across selected product lines, including kidnap & ransom, accident and health and product recall within the Asia Pacific market.
