ISU organizes summit address election’s effect on insurance industry
Indiana State University’s Networks Financial Institute of the Scott College of Business, with support from Faegre Baker Daniels and FaegreBD Consulting, is organizing a summit that addresses the effect America’s political climate has on the insurance industry—particularly on the subject of regulation.

The 12th in a series of annual events, this year’s Networks Financial Institute Insurance Public Policy Summit will feature members of Congress, government officials, and industry leaders as they discuss the consequences of the upcoming presidential election on the insurance landscape.

"As we move closer to decision 2016, it was important to incorporate the political climate and the effect the result will have on the future of the insurance industry," said Networks Financial Institute director Rebecca Wray. "Attendees will benefit from the summit by hearing first-hand from Members of Congress, key Congressional staff, federal and state regulators, and industry leaders on how they anticipate decision 2016 will impact insurance regulation."

Eight students were invited to participate in the event.

"This opportunity gives the students real-world experience and networking with insurance and financial services industry leaders. Students also participate in a tour of the Capitol and meet with Congressional leaders," Wray remarked.

The summit, themed “Decision 2016: The Impact on Insurance Regulation,” will run from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the 8th floor of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

Entrance to the summit is free and open for the public.
