Global property and casualty insurance giant Liberty Mutual has announced a new distribution model for its commercial insurance operation, Global Risk Solutions (GRS).

The new structure enables brokers and buyers to enjoy easier access to the full suite of GRS primary and specialty commercial insurance products across the world.

“We’ve organized the [US] into six geographic regions, each of which will be managed by a regional executive,” said Shaun Kelly, president of Global Risk Solutions distribution. “Each region will have a number of branch executives who will oversee broker relationships on a local level.”

The new regional executives are:

  • Ron Gleason, South Central regional executive
  • Chris Johnston, Midwest regional executive
  • Amy Lochhead, Southeast regional executive
  • David Russo, Mid Atlantic regional executive
  • Bob Thomas, Northeast regional executive
  • Adam Witten, Western regional executive

Kelly added: “This structure provides distribution partners access to the full capability of Liberty and Ironshore more easily, and will create new opportunities for us to work together in a multiline, collaborative way.”

Liberty Mutual reorganized its commercial and specialty operations across the globe into the single business unit of GRS earlier this year. GRS has global reach and the scale needed to deliver whole-account solutions for mid-size and large complex risks.

As well as the new regional executives, the insurance giant has appointed Ben Johnson as wholesale distribution executive, with the task of optimizing relationships with wholesale distribution partners across North America.
