Industry veteran and former Liberty Mutual executive Katie MacGregor has joined Lloyd’s insurer ArgoGlobal as its new head of claims.

MacGregor, who spent the last 12 years at Liberty Mutual holding various high positions, will be reporting to ArgoGlobal COO David Lang.

MacGregor said ArgoGlobal’s “clear strategy for future growth” made her join the insurer.

“ArgoGlobal has an enviable reputation in the market and has proven time and again that it really is a player in the international insurance arena,” she said.

“I am looking forward to working with the team to help drive the business forward and continue to make us best in class,” MacGregor added.

MacGregor recently worked as deputy head of claims at Liberty Mutual and head of the commercial lines claims division for liberty specialty markets.

She also served as head of claims for Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe, managing a team of 50 claims professionals located in the London, regional and European offices where she covered a wide range of products spanning financial and professional Lines, casualty, specialty, property, energy, construction and aviation.

Also a former claims operations manager, MacGregor led Liberty International Underwriters’ global claims transformation with the introduction of a new claims system.

Lang said MacGregor’s calibre and experience in the industry will bolster ArgoGlobal’s service.

“We have ambitious plans for Syndicate 1200 and our growing international office network, and the skills and knowledge that Katie brings from her experience of managing the claims for an international insurance company as well as her legal background will only serve to strengthen our proposition,” Lang said.
