Insurance broker and risk advisor Marsh has announced the appointment of Andy Stirk (pictured above) as US chief growth officer. The appointment will take effect Jan. 16.

Stirk will be based in New York. he will report to Michelle Sartain, president of Marsh US.

Stirk has 20 years of industry experience. He joins Marsh from Ascot Group, where he most recently served as chief commercial officer. In that role, he was responsible for distribution, marketing and sales strategy for Ascot’s North American businesses. Before joining Ascot, Stirk served as managing director and US and Canada growth leader for Marsh’s US and Canada financial and professional liability practice.

“Andy’s strategic focus, deep industry knowledge, and client-centric approach make him the ideal candidate to lead Marsh’s client acquisition and retention strategies in the US,” Sartain said. “I look forward to working with him to advance Marsh’s growth objectives and to ensure that our clients benefit from innovative risk solutions, unparalleled service excellence, and a seamless experience.”

Last month, Marsh announced a collaboration with Beazley to offer additional professional indemnity liability coverage to construction contractors based on their ESG performance. In November, the company announced the promotion of John Donnelly to global head of placement.
