National insurance broker McGriff has announced the appointment of Andrew Belisle as a senior vice president and transactional risk specialist in its Executive Risk Advisors Group.

Belisle (pictured above) joins McGriff from a leading transactional insurance managing general agent. He has also worked as an underwriter in the US division of a London-based specialty insurer. In those roles, Belisle specialized in underwriting representation and warranty insurance coverage for private equity and strategic buyers.

Belisle also served as a corporate and M&A attorney for law firms Alston & Bird and Morris, Manning & Martin.

“Andrew has an outstanding M&A background in both risk and law, and is a perfect fit for our growing practice,” said Dusty Cahill, co-leader of McGriff’s Executive Risk Advisors Group. “He will be a tremendous leader for us and an excellent resource for our clients.”

McGriff is a graduate of Emory Law School. Prior to attending law school, he was a commercial lines insurance broker with the former Oswald Trippe & Co., which was acquired by McGriff in 2009.
