In anticipation of its increased workforce requirements, and as part of its commitment to the local community, National Interstate Insurance Company (NIIC) has partnered with non-profit JobsOhio to boost job creation and employee development, according to a Globe Newswire report.

NIIC is in the process of expanding its operations in Ohio, where it expects to add at least 200 new employees to its workforce over the next few years as it undertakes expansion of its company campus.

“We appreciate the supportive business environment and ongoing services that we receive from all of our partners. Our campus, with its central location between Cleveland and Akron, has allowed us access to top talent throughout Northeast Ohio and we are pleased to provide them a convenient, safe and stimulating work environment,” Gary Monda, NIIC vice president and chief investment officer told Globe Newswire.

JobsOhio is involved in job creation and attracting new capital investment to the state.

Also as part of its commitment to the Richfield community, NIIC broke ground on a new 117,000 square foot facility, which will serve as the centerpiece of its campus. The project is worth $25 million and will result in a total of 300,000 square foot office building that can house 1,000 employees.

The expanded facility will likewise have a space allocation for NIIC clients to provide opportunities for improved and extended customer interaction.

“After months of planning, we are excited to begin construction of what will become the main building on our campus,” Tony J. Mercurio, NIIC president and chief executive said in the wire report. “The construction of this new building is yet another sign to our customers, employees, business partners, and the community of our commitment to growth and to Northeast Ohio.”

The firm has also partnered with the Village of Richfield and the Revere School District.
