Producers working with firefighter clients now have a new resource when shopping accidental death and disability policies.

Indiana-based K&K Insurance Group announced this week a new insurance program for firefighters, which includes:
  • Accidental death and dismemberment
  • Accelerated benefit
  • Hearth and circulatory benefit, which covers death, medical expense or total disability benefit when an insured suffers a sudden heart or circulatory malfunction within 48 hours after participating in an emergency call
  • Seat belt coverage, which provides a $20,000 death benefit due to the unintentional collision of an automobile or fire engine during which the insured is participating in a covered activity and wearing a seat belt
Volunteers are offered the same coverage as full-time firefighters, and also have the option to purchase medical coverage and partial/total disability.

These policies can be written for the entire state or on a per firehouse basis. The program is available in all states except for Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, and Virginia.

Coverage is offered an on admitted basis and provided through an insurance carrier rated A+ by AM Best.

No prior appointment or agreement is necessary for agents to submit applications for quotation.
