California-based insurtech NEXT Insurance and LegalZoom have announced a partnership to help small business owners create and protect their businesses online.
Under the partnership, NEXT’s fully embedded insurance product, NEXT Connect, will allow small business owners to get a quote for small business insurance and purchase a plan without leaving the LegalZoom platform.
According to a LegalZoom survey, only 9% of entrepreneurs said they already had business insurance when forming their businesses. However, having business insurance is a critical – and sometimes legally required – part of setting up a business, LegalZoom said.

In addition to the embedded experience on the LegalZoom platform, customers can consent to have their information automatically populated within NEXT Connect to make exploring their insurance options faster.

The partnership with LegalZoom is NEXT’s latest effort to help small businesses. In December, the company expanded its employment practices liability insurance for restaurants.
