On April 1, Gov. John Kasich’s office announced that Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation administrator and CEO Steve Buehrer is stepping down from his post.

Buehrer served as the administrator of the agency for over five years, and will wrap up his service effective April 15.

In a letter of resignation addressed to the governor, Buehrer revealed that he had accepted a position in the private sector; details regarding the position and which company Buehrer would be working for are scant.

Through the letter, Buehrer also thanked Kasich for selecting him to lead the agency and expressed his pride at having served as a member of the governor’s cabinet.

The letter was released by the governor’s office on Friday to the Associated Press.

Sarah Morrison, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s chief legal officer, was selected to serve as interim administrator and CEO.
