In a bid to consolidate its presence in Austin, Texas Mutual Insurance Company plans to move its headquarters to Mueller in Northeast Austin.

Texas Mutual’s headquarters is staffed by 600 employees—all of whom will move to the new location in Mueller sometime in 2018. A total of 13,000 people will work at the new headquarters once fully built.

The four-story, 270,000 square feet building is anticipated to start construction spring 2017.

“As we considered new space for our growing team of employees to serve our policyholders, we were looking for a technologically advanced office in central Austin that would support our commitment to health and wellness,” said Texas Mutual Insurance Company president and CEO Richard Gergasko in a written statement. “Mueller, with its many outdoor spaces and other amenities, is the perfect fit.”

According to a feature on statesman.com, Catellus Development was tapped to handle the construction of the building. The building itself will be fully owned by Texas Mutual and will be fully occupied by the insurer, save for the 20,000 square feet of first-floor retail space.

Texas Mutual has two other offices in Austin. The insurer provides coverage to roughly 40% of the local market.
