QBE North America announced its strategic program alliance with AmWINS Special Risk Underwriters (SRU) to offer a nationwide excess property program.

The two firms will collaborate to cover a mix of soft occupancy assets, such as hospitality and retail, as well as manufacturing, which are niche markets for QBE.

The program will be offered on a non-admitted basis.

“QBE is excited to partner with such an experienced property MGA. This business will be a valuable addition to our current book and we look forward to fostering this relationship,” Glenn Skrynecki, QBE senior vice president for property and casualty programs said in a PRNewswire report.

Katie Davies, president of AmWINS SRU, also said, “We were looking to partner with a carrier that will help us achieve our long term goals in this space. QBE brings the specialized expertise to help us meet the needs of our customers.”

AMWINS SRU was established as an exclusive MGA for AmWINS property brokers, which is a major independent wholesaler in the US.

QBE North America is an operating division of global insurer QBE Insurance Group.
