RT Specialty has paid tribute to Alison J. Renner (pictured), who has passed away after a brief illness.
Renner had more than 45 years of experience in the insurance industry – 40 of those years were dedicated to the life sciences segment, particularly pharmaceutical product liability. She entered the insurance business in 1972 in New Jersey. Renner later moved to Chicago, where she joined AVRECO’s Excess & Surplus lines business segment. She developed expertise in the pharmaceutical business and eventually formed her own company A. J. Renner & Associates in 1985.
In 1990, A. J. Renner & Associates unveiled a first-of-its-kind product liability program dedicated to the generic and specialty pharmaceutical industry. To this day, the RenneRx Insure program continues to exclusively serve the industry.
For three decades, Renner’s company thrived and was held as the gold standard for access to the London and US insurance marketplaces.
A. J. Renner & Associates was acquired by RT Specialty in September 2015. Following the acquisition, Renner continued to provide risk management consulting and insurance services to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and cannabis industries.
