RT Specialty has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jonathan Legge as senior vice president of its RT ProExec division. In his new role, Legge will assume leadership of RT ProExec’s transactional liability and private equity practice.

Legge began his career with American International Group in 1992. He moved to Johnson & Higgins in 1996 and on to Marsh when it purchased J&H in 1997. At Marsh, Legge held various positions of increasing authority, finishing his tenure as the leader of the company’s FINPRO private equity practice. While at Marsh, Legge placed one of the first US representations and warranties policies.

In 2008, he co-founded Vanbridge, where he developed numerous insurance products focused on the private equity space.

“With the growing importance of private equity to the economy, we want to ensure that we are well-positioned to continue to exhibit thought leadership and product innovation in this space,” said RT ProExec Co-President Alex Jezerski Jr. “Jon is a recognized leader in this area, and will be responsible for expanding our private equity practice and for further enhancing our presence in the transactional liability segment. We believe that there is a significant need in the market for additional expertise not only in the representations and warranties line of coverage, but also in the less well-known tax liability and loss mitigation coverages.”
