Starr Companies have launched a new insurance offering that provides comprehensive coverage for losses related to cyber attacks, workplace violence, political violence and acts of terrorism.

The business group headed by former AIG boss Maurice Greenberg has introduced Cyber and Terror Response, a product that enhances general liability and property policies by covering security-related perils that severely impact, interrupt, and damage businesses’ physical locations, operations, and employees.

The new product provides a mix of first party property damage, business interruption and coverage for claims for third party damage coverage.

It also offers coordination services including post-event crisis counselling and medical care; temporary relocation expenses; loss of life benefit; privacy crisis expenses; defense costs; and public relations and advisory services.

“We recognize that, after a horrific event, our clients have a need to restore operations as soon as possible,” said Alex Pittignano, Starr Surplus Lines senior vice president.

“By providing a policy that complements existing general liability and property policies, Starr’s clients can rest assured that coverage and services are available when they are needed most,” he added.

Pittignano said the company’s security and crisis communication experts will be accessible to Cyber and Terror Response clients through a 24-hour hotline.
