Stewart Title Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Paul Bugoni as senior agency counsel and vice president. In this role, Bugoni will be responsible for managing agent underwriting questions and issues, as well as expanding and solidifying the company’s agents across New York state.

Prior to joining Stewart, Bugoni served as in-house counsel for various title underwriters. He has extensive experience in real estate litigation and transactional work. Bugoni previously worked for Stewart from 2014 to 2018.

“I’m very excited to bring Paul’s comprehensive industry and legal knowledge back to Stewart,” said John Frates, president and general counsel for Stewart. “Paul is a welcome addition to our best-in-class underwriting and agency services teams.”

In addition to his underwriting responsibilities, Bugoni conducts continuing education classes for agents and continuing legal education classes for attorneys on behalf of Stewart and the New York State Land Title Association. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Real Property Law Section Committee on Title Insurance.

“I’m excited to be back with Stewart and am looking forward to working closely with the agents, many of whom I’ve known for years,” Bugoni said. “I’m ready to tackle the challenges that face the title industry today with the goal of building Stewart up to be the premier player in the market.”
