Norwood Insurance Group, an insurance agency that serves the greater Dallas area, announced the creation of a charity program designed to help the local community.

Through the program, the agency selects a new beneficiary every 60 days, working closely with nonprofit organizations based in the area. The agency said it hopes to bring community awareness to crucial local causes through creating campaigns to help worthy individuals, families, or groups with fundraising and other support.

For the debut of the agency’s new program, Norwood Insurance Group principal Wes Norwood chose the National Breast Cancer Foundation – Texas. The objective of the campaign is to raise funds as well as draw attention to the devastating effects a breast cancer diagnosis can have on everyday life.

“We feel it’s critical to help local people in any way we can, and our team hopes to pull the community together in support of those who need it most with our community enrichment program,” said Norwood. “We are very pleased to kick-off by helping The National Breast Cancer Foundation. Unfortunately, I know firsthand the devastating effects a breast cancer diagnosis can have on the entire family. As the leading cause of death in women, we hope everyone will really rally around this terrific cause. We can eradicate cancer if we work together.”

Each campaign will have a donations page set up by the agency that offers details regarding the chosen cause. The agency will also spread word of its campaigns through its customers, business partners, staff, neighbors, and friends.
