Independent agents working with The Hanover Insurance Group can now offer clients an enhanced suite of general liability and umbrella products.

The Massachusetts-based insurer announced this week that it will begin offering industry-specific and specialized coverage endorsements to the policies in order to further extend coverage.

The general liability suite consists of more than 20 coverages and enhancements, including coverage for newly acquired or formed organizations until the end of the policy period and additional insured – primary and non-contributory, as well as industry-specific coverages. It is meant to more fully protect commercial package policy and monoline general liability clients against damage, inury and lawsuits.

The umbrella liability coverages, meanwhile, boast an improved Coverage A/Coverage B format to eliminate potential gaps in coverage. It is meant to offer policyholders additional protection in the event of a catastrophic loss, with limits that go beyond scheduled general liability, commercial auto, employer’s liability and more.

“We are committed to investing in our product portfolio to ensure that we’re providing innovative and differentiated solutions for our agents and their customers,” said John Roche, president of business insurance at The Hanover. “In particular, these improved general liability and umbrella coverages enable our agents to address more of the customers’ needs.”

Along with the enhancements, The Hanover has simplified policy forms to help independent agents do business faster and easier.

The new and enhanced general liability and umbrella coverage offerings are available immediately on new and renewal policies.
