Universal Insurance Holdings (UVE) has appointed Arash Soleimani as its new chief strategy officer. Meanwhile, Rob Luther and Gary Ropiecki have been promoted to chief investment officer and principal accounting officer, respectively.

In his new roles, Soleimani will oversee the strategy and investor relations functions. Meanwhile, Luther will take charge of the $1 billion investment portfolio and M&A activities, and Ropiecki will lead the enterprise-wide accounting and reporting functions.

The three bring a wealth of experience as they enter new but familiar terrain.

Prior to joining UVE, Soleimani served as the executive vice president and director of investor relations at Heritage Insurance Holdings. Notably, he was also a senior auditor at Deloitte in 2009 and a director for equity research at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods in 2017.

Luther worked at L3Harris Technologies supporting transformational acquisitions and leading inorganic portfolio shaping optimization efforts before becoming the vice president of corporate development, strategy and investor relations at UVE.

Ropiecki was previously the senior vice president and corporate controller at UVE, and continues to serve as corporate secretary alongside his promotion to principal accounting officer. He started his career at Deloitte and has since held roles at Hannover Re, Torus Insurance, KPMG and E&Y.

“I’m very pleased to announce the continued focus on key pillars of our organization,” said Steve Donaghy, chief executive officer at UVE. “The appointment of Arash and promotions of Rob and Gary deepen our bench strength, which is imperative as we develop and execute our strategic objectives and position the company for sustainable, long-term success.”
