VIU by HUB, a digital insurance brokerage platform subsidiary of Hub International Limited, has announced a new partnership with Unison, a home equity sharing company.

The collaboration will allow homeowners to compare insurance coverage quotes from various carriers and receive expert advice throughout the process.

“Too often we hear about homeowners who only look at their insurance policies when purchasing a new home,” said Bryan Davis, executive vice president and head of VIU. “That’s a miss, as constantly changing dynamics in the housing market may impact the kind of coverage you need. By merging technology and human expertise, VIU helps homeowners manage their insurance policies easily so they can be more aware of their needs and confident the right coverage is always in place.”

VIU provides consumers with a seamless digital experience combined with the option of interacting with live agents. The platform simplifies the personal insurance process by allowing consumers to shop for quotes, compare policies, make purchases, and manage coverage across various categories such as home, auto, condo, renters, life, and pet. Throughout the process, consumers can also benefit from advice provided by insurance experts.

“Making insurance simpler to understand, compare and shop for provides homeowners with more security and peace of mind as they navigate the changing housing market,” said Thomas Sponholtz, CEO of Unison. “We look forward to bringing choice and added value to our customers.”

In addition to serving individual consumers, VIU's technical capabilities allow for seamless integration within the workflows and systems of partner organizations. This feature enables partner organizations to provide added value to their customers while supporting their own growth objectives, VIU said.

In March, VIU announced a partnership with Fetch Pet Insurance. Elsewhere in the company, Hub recently announced that it had acquired seven related firms, all headquartered in Michigan.
