Increasingly popular walk and run events are affording independent agents a chance to place more business, and a new website from K&K Insurance Group promises to make the process much easier.
The website,
www.WalkRunInsurance-kk.com, allows agents to quote and purchase liability insurance for the events online, with immediate delivery of coverage documents. The program itself provides liability protection for the organization putting on the event, including employees and volunteers, for claims arising out of its operations. Coverage also includes medical payments for participants on an excess basis.
Limits range from $1 million per occurrence with a $5 million aggregate up to $5 million per occurrence with a $5 million aggregate.
The advantage of the program is that rates are lower than traditional sports events programs, K&K says. Rates are based instead on whether the event is a non-competitive charity walk/run or a competitive walk or run event—competitive events being timed.
Minimum premium for non-competitive events is $150, while the minimum for competitive events is $300. Sexual abuse and molestation coverage is available with the Walk/Run Event Program, as well as ancillary event coverage.
The website offers agents 10% commission without any prior appointment or agreement. Coverage is offered on an admitted basis through an A+-rated insurance carrier.
