Violent weather to visit North-Central US this week

Damaging storms expected to move eastward from the Plains in the US

Catastrophe & Flood

The coming workweek could welcome damaging thunderstorms as the severe weather that struck the northern Plains could move eastward to Minnesota, Iowa, Western Wisconsin, Kansas and Missouri, a meteorological forecast has said.

AccuWeather Storm Warning meteorologist Brian Koochel said the foul weather will start from an intensifying system over the Northern Plains.

Intense heat could also be a precursor to the weather system, so areas experiencing 90 degree heat should monitor changes in the climate as storms can quickly erupt on a sunny day.

Winnipeg, Manitoba; Fargo and Grand Forks, North Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Minneapolis and Omaha, and Nebraska should be on the lookout for such events, AccuWeather reported.

Large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes are all possibilities, especially at the start of the storms. Flags remain up for flash floods, especially in places where the storms hit hard last week.
Specifically, Kansas City, Missouri; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Thunder Bay, Ontario should watch out for flash floods, meteorologists said.
