EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants has hired Josh Close, who joins the brokerage’s national energy construction practice in Birmingham, AL as a client services coordinator.

Close “will be involved in all aspects of client support, account rounding and relationship management,” a release said. His responsibilities include client needs assessment, risk management and insurance program design and placement, ongoing account management, program stewardship, and resource and vendor management. He will report to EPIC principal Brian Tanner.

Close was most recently an agent with Bankers Life in Birmingham. As an agent, he was responsible for new business development and the oversight and management of client relationships.

“We are excited to further enhance EPIC’s operations in Birmingham and the Southeast Region with Josh’s addition,” said Tanner. “He is well regarded for his business development and needs assessment ability, and for building strong, positive relationships with clients, insurance companies and other business partners. Josh will be a terrific addition as we continue to build and strengthen our exceptional EPIC team here in Birmingham and across the country.”

Close earned his degree in interdisciplinary studies, business and sports management at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. He also played varsity baseball in his alma mater as part of the Liberty Flames.
