Lockton loses veteran specialty insurance expert

The former leader of Lockton’s construction services group has joined another company.

Michael Campo joins IMA (subsidiary of IMA Financial Group) as an executive vice president and national construction practice leader, from September 01. He was previously associated with Lockton, having spent the past 21 years with the company until he resigned.

“Michael is one of the top professionals in our business and one of the pre-eminent experts in construction risk,” IMA president Bob Reiter said in a statement. “We could not be more thrilled to have someone of Michael’s talent as a part of the IMA team. He will help take an area of great strength for us in our construction group and make it world class.”

Kansas City Business Journal reported that following his new appointment, Campo will move from Kansas City to Denver and will report directly to Reiter.

“I can’t wait to start working with and leading IMA’s highly respected construction professionals,” Campo commented.

Campo’s credentials include tenures as chartered casualty property underwriter, construction risk insurance specialist, associate in risk management and associate in underwriting. He earned his MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), focusing on entrepreneurial studies. He has also taught classes at UMKC’s Henry W. Bloch School of Management.
