Staying on top of brokers' challenges

Keeping ahead of an ever-evolving environment has brought success to Rikki Concannon, brokerage service manager at RPS Ascinsure Specialty Risk. It’s helped Concannon in a specialty niche – offering insurance for scaffold and crane risks – and led to her being named one of Insurance Business America’s top specialist brokers for 2022.

“In an ever-changing regulatory environment, we are constantly seeking to stay abreast of the challenges faced by our broker partners,” Concannon told IBA. “Understanding needs and challenges has allowed us to strive to offer innovative solutions in the niche scaffold and construction access industry.”

Concannon began her career on the agency side, working directly with insureds and managing marketing teams at two different agencies. She joined RPS Ascinsure Specialty Risk in 2019.

She said her experience on the agency side helped prepare her for the role.

“I believe that my background as a commercial marketing manager and producer trainer on the retail side has offered me the ability to assist our brokers with their prospecting, submission and closing strategies,” Concannon said. “In partnership with our brokers, I will review websites and/or prospects’ current coverage for challenges and opportunities. I work with our brokers to compile a quality submission that provides our underwriting team with the ability to review the account thoroughly in a timely manner.”

Concannon also works with brokers to spot coverage advantages for scaffold and construction access risks and crane, rigging and specialized transportation risks.

RPS Ascinsure is a nationwide insurance carrier and program underwriting manager for multiple carriers. It serves several speciality niches, with representatives who are specialists in their fields.
