AXIS taps Markel veteran as senior cyber underwriter

AXIS Insurance, the insurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings, has announced the hiring of Andrew Maher as senior cyber underwriter. Maher will be based in London and will report to Dan Trueman, global head of cyber and technology at AXIS.

“Andy is a recognized expert in the cyber insurance market and has a strong reputation and key relationships with both brokers and clients,” Trueman said. “He is an important addition to our newly expanded global cyber and technology team, and will help us to further enhance our reputation as one of the leading experts on cyber risk mitigation.”

Prior to joining AXIS, Maher spent two years as a senior cyber underwriter at Markel. He began his career at Beazley, where he worked in several underwriting roles, including working in the company’s information security and Beazley Breach Response teams.
