Alera Group has announced two recent acquisitions in the Southeast. The firm has acquired Murray Insurance Agency, a Florida-based health insurance company, and NPC Benefits, a specialty insurance consulting firm based in Georgia.

Murray Insurance Agency was founded in 1981. The agency provides individual and family coverage, Medicare, life and ancillary insurance, and services related to the Affordable Care Act for Florida and North Carolina.

“At Murray Insurance Agency, our primary goal is to find affordable solutions for all our customers’ health insurance needs,” said Stephanie Murray Aldridge, president of Murray Insurance Agency. “It is our commitment and desire to establish longstanding relationships with our clients, build off of trust and education. This commitment has served us well throughout the years. We take pride in knowing that our clients keep returning to us for advice.”

“Murray Insurance Agency has been a trusted provider of health insurance serving Florida residents for more than 40 years,” said Alan Levitz, CEO of Alera Group. “The agents at Murray Insurance help individuals and families obtain coverage appropriate for their needs and their budgets. We are excited to welcome Murray Insurance Agency to Alera Group, and we’re confident their culture will be a great asset to our growing company.”

Atlanta-based NPC Benefits provides personal income and wealth protection plans to employees, associations, executives and individuals. It was initially founded in 1991 as National Planning Consultants, a specialty provider of supplemental disability insurance plans for large employers. Today, the company works jointly with group benefits consultants and other insurance professionals to provide supplemental income protection products and concepts to large employers and associations, using proprietary enrollment communications and technology.

“Having adequate income protection insurance is one of the most important aspects of financial planning, as it protects the one asset that provides for everything else,” said Ken Yarbrough, president of NPC Benefits. “NPC is committed to enhancing the availability, convenience and communication of personal income protection plans to employees, associations, individuals and families. Our focus is on offering the most innovative income protection plans available today, with significant discounts and no health questions, through both employers and associations.”

“The NPC Benefits team’s comprehensive knowledge of the insurance landscape allows them to match employers and associations with plans that fit their customers best,” Levitz said. “We are pleased to welcome NPC Benefits to the Alera Group family and expand our footprint in Georgia.”

The Murray Insurance and NPC Benefits teams will continue in their existing roles. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
