Company pushes its marine business forward with a swoop for two industry veterans

Brit Ltd has announced the appointments of Marc Robinson and Yasuaki (Yasu) Saegusa to the marine business of Brit Global Specialty USA (BGUSA).

Robinson will serve as assistant vice president, based in the company’s Hartford, Conn., office. In his new role, he will be responsible for underwriting BGSU’s yacht portfolio. He will report to Craig McGinnes, vice president, yacht. Prior to joining the company, Robinson worked as a lead underwriter at Falvey Yacht Insurance, where he was responsible for new and renewal business for yachts up to $20 million. 

Saegusa has been appointed vice president for cargo, and will be based in Newport Beach, Calif. In his new role, he will develop BGSU’s cargo book of business on the West Coast. He will report to William Frohne, vice president, cargo. Prior to joining BGSU, Saegusa was manager of AIG’s marine offering in western North America and lead cargo underwriter.

BGSU’s marine business launched in 2016 as part of Brit’s strategy to expand its regional footprint in the Americas.
