Property-casualty broker NFP has announced that it has appointed Michael MacCrory as a senior vice president in its energy and marine practice.

In his new role, MacCrory will contribute to the continuing growth of NFP’s specialty business. He will report to Vilma Vanegas, senior vice president and practice leader for energy and marine.

MacCrory has more than four decades of insurance experience within the energy sector. He joins the company from Marsh, where he most recently served as managing director and placement leader for the Marsh Houston excess team, working on the company’s largest midstream and downstream energy accounts. Prior to Marsh, he served as team lead for the umbrella/excess coverage and excess and surplus lines business at John L. Wortham & Son. MacCrory holds a Chartered Professional Casualty Underwriter designation from The Institutes.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Mike to our growing team of talented and experienced specialty professionals, Vanegas said. “With his experience across marine and excess liability underwriting, risk management analysis at an integrated oil and gas company, and insurance broking, Mike is well-positioned to develop and evaluate solutions for the most challenging and complex casualty issues our energy clients face.”

“I’m excited to join NFP and work with Vilma and her exceptional energy and marine team,” MacCrory said. “Risk management in the energy industry is increasingly more complex, and organizations need access to a variety of skilled resources to make decisions regarding new and evolving challenges. I’m confident my background, in concert with the capabilities of my new NFP colleagues, will enhance our ability to help energy companies overcome a variety of challenges.”

MacCrory is NFP’s latest appointment. Earlier this week, the company announced the appointment of Lauren Kim as managing director of its financial institutions' group. Last week, it appointed John Ferreira as professional liability practice leader within its management, cyber and professional liability practice.
