The United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Customs and Border Protection law enforcers confiscated $1.42 million worth of cocaine aboard a ferry in Puerto Rico last week.

USCG busted the Isleño ferry of the Fajardo terminal during a surveillance patrol and found 125 pounds of cocaine. The contraband was wrapped in 50 packages placed in two suitcases in plain sight.

USCG said a field test revealed the contraband to be cocaine.

Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces of Rapid Action assisted the Coast Guard boarding team during the transfer of the illegal drug shipment to the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigation Special Agents, the lead investigators of the said incident.
