Gallagher acquires retail broker Anderson Benson

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired the retail insurance broker and risk management firm Anderson Benson.

Founded 2012, the Nashville, TN-based Anderson Benson has an entertainment niche expertise. The broker also has specializations in hospitality, construction, transportation and private clients across the US.

As part of the deal, George Anderson, Reno Benson, Brent Daughrity, Steve Buzzell, Will Wright and the rest of the Anderson Benson team will remain in their current location, under the supervision of Gallagher head of Mid-South retail property/casualty brokerage operations Bumpy Triche.

“Anderson Benson’s entertainment market expertise offers us significant opportunities for growth,” said Gallagher chairman, president and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. “I am delighted to welcome George, Reno, Brent, Steve, Will and their associates to Gallagher.”

For the year 2022, Gallagher posted net earnings of $1.1 billion (adjusted: $1.6 billion), up from $955 million in 2021. The company’s broking segment saw 2022 net earnings of $1.2 billion (adjusted: $1.8 billion), an increase from the previous year’s $1 billion. Meanwhile, its risk management segment saw net earnings of $115.8 million (adjusted: $120 million), up from 2021’s $89.5 million.
