King Insurance, one of the fastest-growing full-service insurance brokerages in the nation, has announced that it has acquired Florida-based Hunt Insurance Group.

Founded in 1945, Hunt is a specialty broker that advises housing authorities, prison systems and municipalities on insuring their unique risks. The firm specializes in self-funded solutions for property-casualty and medical insurance.

“The fit between King and Hunt is perfect,” said Scott Hunt, president and CEO of Hunt Insurance Group. “We’re looking forward to being a part of King Insurance and helping in the future growth.”

“King Insurance was the right partner for us,” said John E. Hunt Jr., executive vice president of Hunt Insurance Group. “We couldn’t be happier with our decision.”

“We’re excited to welcome the Hunt team to King,” said Chad King, CEO of King Insurance. “Their self-insurance expertise, combined with our resources, capabilities and support, will create new and dynamic opportunities for all.”
