World Insurance Associates has acquired the business of TE Freuler, a P&C agency based in Somerset, New Jersey, effective June 1, 2026.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1963, TE Freuler has provided commercial and personal insurance to clients for more than six decades from its Somerset and Newark offices.
Jack Butler, TE Freuler's president, said the agency's long-term client relationships were central to the decision to join World.
"We value the long-term relationships we have with our clients, and our aim is to offer the best coverages, while reducing their insurance cost and reducing their coverage gaps. It's great to join World Insurance and increase the products and services we offer to our clients," Butler said.
Rich Eknoian, World's executive chairman and founder, welcomed the agency in language consistent with how he's framed World's prior New Jersey deals.
"They have been a presence in our home state of New Jersey for many years, and I look forward to their continued success as part of World," Eknoian said.
TE Freuler's own history points to a firm that invested early in comparison-shopping technology well ahead of most independent agencies. The agency has long marketed a proprietary Rate Comparison Program that lets staff instantly reference rates and benefits across multiple carriers, alongside what it describes as daily, personal involvement in claims processing, a combination of technology and hands-on service that has defined its approach since the 1960s.
TE Freuler is far from an isolated deal for World. Insurance Business has previously reported that World treats New Jersey acquisitions as a consistent theme, closing deals including Jersey Coast Insurance in Margate City, ML Ruberton Agency and MLR Risk Management in Hammonton, and Clarke Insurance in Mount Holly, all within recent months.
According to Tracxn's tracking of the company's acquisition history, World has completed well over 100 acquisitions since its 2011 founding, with recent activity spanning multiple states in addition to New Jersey. The consistent presence of the same legal counsel, Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla, representing World across these deals reflects a well-established, repeatable acquisition process centered on smaller, owner-led agencies rather than large, competitive-bid transactions.
For independent agency owners in central and northern New Jersey specifically, TE Freuler's deal reinforces that World continues treating its home state as a priority acquisition target even as it expands nationally.
Owners of similarly sized, multi-generational agencies without a clear succession plan now have another concrete, recent example of how World structures these transactions: preserving the acquired agency's name, location and client relationships while adding access to a broader national platform and product set.
