The professional lines arm of international underwriter Argo Group International Holdings has made two new appointments as it moves to strengthen its ranks and product positioning.

Argo Pro has appointed David Donovan-Schager to the position of operations manager and hired Carolyn Pearce and Beth Goodrich to assistant vice president underwriting manager posts.

“Our plan is to have product innovation and risk management services as the hallmark of all Argo Pro products,” company president Craig Landi said in a statement. Landi will supervise Donovan-Schager, while the two new vice presidents will report to Bill Kelly, senior vice president for underwriting.

Pearce will be responsible for the architects and engineers segment, while Goodrich will handle the accountants segment. The two sectors were previously managed under one division.

“By splitting the book into two separate and focused teams, (we) will improve growth and profitability. We are committed to investing in our team, exploring new ways to grow our book of business and improving our operational efficiencies,” Kelly also explained in the statement.

Donovan-Schager is an industry veteran with 20 years of industry experience under his belt. He joined Argo in 2005, and previously served with Travelers, Aon and Chubb, among others.

Pearce is also an industry veteran with specific expertise in professional liability. Goodrich similarly has two decades experience and is an AIG veteran.
