NAS Insurance Services has announced the appointment of Jeff Jacobs as vice president of specialty underwriting. Jacob’s appointment comes as NAS expands its underwriting staff in Atlanta, Chicago and New York.

“Jeff is widely recognized as a leader in the industry, and he brings valuable experience to our rapidly expanding business,” said Michael Palotay, NAS chief underwriting officer. “His underwriting experience, broker relationships and enthusiasm for specialty will be a great support for our teams and our clients in the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast regions.”

In his new role, Jacobs will oversee the expansion of NAS specialty lines, including miscellaneous E&O, tenant discrimination and a new approach to architects and engineers professional liability. Jacobs will focus on growing NAS’s presence across the US and managing its existing relationships with producers.

Before joining NAS, Jacobs held underwriting leadership roles at Berkley, Lockton, Meadowbrook and AON.

“I’ve been a long-time fan of NAS’s products and people,” Jacobs said. “Specialty programs continue to drive the industry, and I’m eager to contribute my experience and know-how in building a national platform at NAS.”
