Ryan Specialty has named Brad Storey (pictured above, left) as president of Irwin Siegel Agency (ISA), the managing general underwriter focused on the social service sector.

The appointment is effective immediately. ISA operates within Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), a division of Ryan Specialty. The company provides insurance products and risk management services to organizations operating in the human and social services sector.

Storey, who has been with ISA for over 17 years, most recently served as executive vice president. He joined the agency as director of risk management and has since held multiple leadership roles.

Storey began his career in human services, with a background in mental health, veterans' wellness, and substance use sectors. He holds a master of social work degree from Rutgers University and is a Certified Praesidium Guardian, reflecting training in abuse prevention and risk management.

At ISA, his leadership path has included roles as vice president of risk management and executive vice president.

Meanwhile, Howard Siegel (pictured above, right), who previously held the role of president at ISA, will move into the position of executive chairman.

“Brad has been with the ISA team for nearly two decades, and I have watched him grow and develop into the proven leader he is today. Brad is the right choice for our next president,” Siegel said.

Siegel joined ISA in 1979 as a personal lines underwriter. By 1984, he had moved into commercial lines underwriting, and in 1994, he was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer. He assumed the role of president and CEO in 2000.

Over the years, Siegel has been active in the broader community, serving on the board of Metro Community Health Centers in New York City and holding the treasurer role at the Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency. His past roles include trustee of NYSARC Trusts and member of the advisory board of Reaching Up, Inc.

He holds a bachelor of science degree from Ithaca College and maintains a property and casualty license. In 1994, he also established the Award for Improvement in the Quality of Life for People with Disabilities, along with sponsoring various recognitions in the human services sector.

Shawn Yingling, CEO of RSUM National Programs, acknowledged the leadership changes, noting ISA’s long-standing focus on insuring organizations that support intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals.

“Howard has stewarded the ISA team into the outstanding platform it is today, and I am excited to partner with him as he moves to the executive chairman role. Additionally, I’m thrilled to see Brad recognized for his expertise and contributions to ISA,” Yingling said.

A few months ago, Ryan Specialty also announced the launch of a new practice group focused on specialty, class-specific package business on both an admitted and non-admitted basis. The practice group is called Ryan Specialty National Programs, led by Yingling as chief executive officer.
