Risk managers at large organizations often cannot answer a basic question from a CFO or board without hours of manual work. What does the program cover, what does it cost, when does it renew - that information typically sits across broker portals, spreadsheets, and shared drives, and pulling it together takes time most risk teams do not have. Willis, a WTW business, launched a platform designed to address that problem.

The platform, called RiskIQ Nexus, consolidates policy, premium, loss, and exposure data from multiple sources into a single connected view. Its AI capabilities support natural language querying, multi-language document ingestion, and on-demand reporting. Users can interrogate their program data without needing analyst support for every request.

A broker-agnostic approach to data consolidation

One feature that separates Nexus from similar tools is that it is broker-agnostic. It can incorporate risk and insurance data from non-Willis placements alongside Willis-placed business. Organizations can build a complete program view regardless of who arranged it, with access restricted to client-approved users.

That is relevant for risk managers at companies that split programs across brokers or carry legacy placements from prior arrangements. A tool that only covers placed business from one broker leaves gaps. Nexus is designed to function as a single source of truth across the full program, non-placement data included.

John Merkovsky, global head of Risk and Analytics at Willis, said Nexus aims to remove the manual effort that sits between risk managers and the answers they need.

"Risk managers shouldn't have to spend hours pulling information from spreadsheets, emails, and shared drives just to answer key questions about their risk and insurance portfolio," Merkovsky said. "Its AI-enabled querying and analysis will help clients move from information to insight and action more quickly."

Nexus within WTW's broader technology push

Nexus extends Willis' existing RiskIQ ecosystem, which WTW launched in 2022 as an on-demand analytics platform for risk quantification, scenario modeling, and renewal analysis. The new platform adds data consolidation and AI-enabled querying. That broadens the ecosystem from analytics into program management and stakeholder reporting.

The launch forms part of WTW's Propel initiative, an AI acceleration plan the company announced alongside its second-quarter 2026 earnings in July. WTW said Propel targets approximately $400 million in run-rate savings by the end of 2028, funded by a $625 million investment. Part of the program focuses on freeing brokers, advisers, and consultants from routine manual work for client advice and new business. Nexus is a client-facing output of that effort.

The practical gain for brokers is in renewal preparation and program oversight. When clients can query their own program data, renewal discussions start from a shared, accurate baseline rather than figures that need reconciling first. That removes a step from the pre-renewal cycle and shifts the broker's time toward interpretation and strategy.
