GEICO announces new partnership

To accelerate its auto claim and repair processes, GEICO is partnering with AI technology company Tractable.

Tractable is the developer of a proprietary computer vision technology that has been trained on millions of historical claims. The AI can assess vehicle damage based on photos, much like a human appraiser. Tractable’s AI processes over $2 billion a year in vehicle repairs and purchases, and currently serves more than 20 of the world’s top insurers.

GEICO is looking to utilize Tractable’s technology to accurately review estimates within seconds while reducing administrative overheads.

“GEICO customers know us for our speed of service and value. Tractable’s artificial intelligence solution delivers both, helping us review estimates more quickly and accurately, getting our customers back on the road faster,” said GEICO founder & CEO Todd Combs.

“We are honored to be chosen by GEICO, one of America’s largest insurers. We are committed to accelerating accident recovery with AI. Through this partnership, our AI will make a positive difference to millions of lives,” added Tractable founder & CEO Alex Dalyac.

Earlier this year, Tractable entered into a similar partnership with The Hartford. And much like GEICO, The Hartford tapped Tractable to utilize the latter’s AI-powered system to speed up the claims process.
