AXA Partners US has introduced a new range of travel insurance products aimed at US residents planning to visit countries in the European Schengen area.
The offerings are designed to meet Schengen visa requirements and provide broader protection for travelers seeking additional benefits.
AXA’s new suite includes three plan options: Schengen Essential, which meets the minimum requirements for a Schengen visa; Schengen Advantage, which provides higher benefit limits beyond the visa requirements; and Schengen Annual, which offers year-round coverage for multiple trips.
“Leveraging our European expertise, we are excited to provide US residents travel protection should they be applying for a Schengen visa or embarking on their summer getaway,” said Blessy George, head of North America, AXA Partners. “AXA Partners US is able to offer our customers essential coverage at a reasonable price.”
Each plan includes coverage for medical expenses, medical evacuation and repatriation, baggage delay, trip interruption, and evacuation due to political or natural disasters. Travelers also have access to AXA’s 24/7 travel assistance services. A 10-day free look period is available for all plans, according to the company.
The US travel insurance market has seen growing demand for coverage tailored to international travel, particularly as more US residents explore destinations in Europe. Insurers have begun offering plans that not only fulfill visa requirements but also provide enhanced protection for a range of travel-related risks, including medical emergencies, cancellations and travel disruptions.
The European Schengen area, which includes 27 countries, requires travelers to have valid travel insurance to meet visa requirements.
As US travelers continue to explore Europe, AXA said the need for affordable and comprehensive coverage to meet these requirements has also risen, driving growth in this sector. The company said its Schengen travel insurance products are designed to comply with visa requirements while providing international protection for travelers.
