AmTrust Financial Services has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Duncan as executive vice president of commercial lines. In his new role, Duncan will be responsible for the company’s commercial lines business, developing products and service capability for the business owners policy, commercial package, general liability, commercial property, nonprofit and transportation segments.

Prior to AmTrust, Duncan served for 17 years at Liberty Mutual, holding a variety of roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as chief underwriting officer for Liberty Mutual’s major accounts healthcare practice, a unit focused on workers’ compensation, automobile liability and property coverage for mid-size and large healthcare providers – a unit he was instrumental in launching.

“Jeff has done it all in our business, from account rep to director of strategy to chief underwriting officer,” said Chris Foy, executive vice president and head of North American commercial P&C at AmTrust. “He and his teams launched dozens of new products across a range of vertical markets and improved processes and procedures across multiple insurance lines. We are excited to have him on the AmTrust team and look forward to him taking our commercial lines to the next level.”

“AmTrust is the market leader in workers’ compensation for small businesses,” Duncan said. “Our path forward is to be a market leader and one-stop-shop for all insurance products that business owners need.”
