Insurtech company Bold Penguin has revealed that the capabilities of its agent/broker platform will be expanded thanks to an integration with biBERK, a Berkshire Hathaway Company.

The partnership will allow agent and broker users of the Bold Penguin platform to triage, quote, and bind commercial insurance coverages available through an API integration.

A release said that Bold Penguin’s integration with biBERK was driven by high demand for workers’ compensation coverage. Despite the demand for workers’ comp, Bold Penguin found that there have been few efforts to make the coverage available digitally.

“Efficiency is key in quoting small commercial,” said Bold Penguin founder and CEO Ilya Bodner.

Bodner added that by welcoming more carriers to the platform, Bold Penguin reduces the number of portals and access points those carriers and their distribution partners have to go through before getting a quick and accurate quote.

biBERK, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway Group, offers policies from the group’s insurance companies. The lines of insurance it offers include workers’ compensation, professional liability, general liability, business owners’ policy, umbrella, and commercial auto.

Last November, Bold Penguin entered into a similar arrangement with CNA.
