Managing general agent GMI Insurance has announced two new appointments and the introduction of workers’ compensation and other specialty programs.

GMI has announced the appointment of Shawn Hall Sr. (pictured above) as chief operating officer and chief revenue officer and Kelly Kelly as administrative manager.

Together, Hall and Kelly will be responsible for growing the company’s product offerings, including workers’ compensation and other specialty programs.

Prior to joining GMI, Hall served as senior vice president and managing director of workers’ compensation and regional vice president at Breckenridge Insurance.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Shawn,” said Mark Trudel, president of GMI Insurance. “His responsibilities will touch every aspect of GMI in his company-wide COO role. We are particularly excited about Shawn’s experience in building client and carrier relationships. His unparalleled market expertise positions us to expand and grow our already successful business.”

“GMI is already a success,” Hall said. “What intrigues me is the potential to grow the business – it’s boundless. I’m looking forward to expanding existing products, bringing on new lines of coverage and developing new programs, with each step organically feeding the next and building our new team along the way. The foundational culture at GMI allows us to foster an environment where employees work for and with others to a better end. I want everyone to be proud of what they do at GMI.”

Kelly joins GMI from Breckenridge Insurance, where she served as an associate broker. She has expertise in client and vendor management, market analysis, auditing, and communication planning.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to work with Shawn in building new programs and bringing my years of wholesale experience to GMI,” she said.

“I’ve known Shawn for over 10 years and look forward to working closely with him and Kelly as I transition to a more market-facing role,” said Karen Trudel, outgoing COO at GMI.

GMI Insurance recently launched a cannabis transport insurance program.
