Rhode Island got a new workers comp’ court judge with the appointment Michael J. Feeney.
Governor Gina M. Raimondo, who hosted the recent swearing in ceremony, affirmed the choice of Feeney, citing his “wide range of legal qualifications”, which are expected to benefit the state Workers’ Compensation Court.
The said court presides over employers and employees relative to work-related injuries, and resolves disputes regarding workers’ compensation. It is comprised of one chief judge and nine associate judges.
Feeney said he aims to serve the Court with “diligence and efficiency”.
The new workers’ comp court judge has been a practicing lawyer for 28 years, and most recently served as a partner at Jeffrey & Feeney Attorneys at Law in Warwick.
He graduated from Suffolk University and New England School of Law.
Feeney will replace former Judge Bruce Q. Morin.
