RT Specialty has announced the immediate promotion of Jim Mitchell (pictured above) to the position of president for its national workers’ compensation division.

Mitchell has been part of RT Specialty since 2020, when he joined through the acquisition of All Risks.

The company said Mitchell’s vision and "profound understanding" of the intricacies of workers’ compensation will play a pivotal role in bolstering RT Specialty’s market presence. The division aims to solidify its position as a trusted trading partner for businesses seeking dynamic risk management solutions.

RT Specialty underscored his leadership in the development of proprietary workers’ compensation programs for industries that are traditionally difficult to place, which has not only helped clients mitigate risks but has also enabled them to navigate regulatory challenges effectively.

According to his LinkedIn, he held the role of EVP before his promotion and was part of All Risks for 15 years before RT Specialty’s acquisition. He also held prior positions at Wausau Insurance, Royal & SunAlliance, and Aetna C&S.

The company’s parent firm Ryan Specialty also recently announced the appointment of Michael Conklin as EVP and chief human resources officer, succeeding Lisa Paschal who has retired after almost a decade in the role.
