Heffernan Insurance Brokers has promoted Brenda Grootendorst as the branch manager of the firm’s Portland, Oregon office.
Grootendorst’s promotion became effective September 01, 2017.

She has more than 30 years of insurance and risk management expertise in employee benefits, property casualty insurance and risk management, a release said. Grootendorst was a principal shareholder of insurance agency Fullerton & Company prior to joining Heffernan Insurance Brokers in 2013.
“I am excited to have Brenda lead our Heffernan team in the Portland community,” said Heffernan Insurance Brokers executive vice-president Elizabeth Bishop in a statement. “She is a seasoned insurance executive whose expertise will help assist our clients and team drive cost effective risk management practices.”
Grootendorst earned her bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Oregon, graduating with honors. She has also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations.
