Chubb chooses new EVP and practice leader for North America life sciences business

Chubb has named Lee Farrow executive vice-president and life sciences industry practice leader for North America.

In his new role, Farrow will “oversee the strategy, operations and underwriting of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, supplement, and medical device customers,” a release said. He will report to Jim West, executive president, North America industry practice leader. Farrow replaces Phil Fiscus, who has been appointed to the position of deputy industry practices manager.

“Lee has been instrumental in the development of Chubb’s Life Sciences business, and has played an important role over the last 16 months in helping to integrate and leverage our broadened life sciences capabilities,” commented West. “He has the skills and expertise needed to lead the practice and understands the unique risk management needs of our life sciences customers.”

Farrow has over 20 years of experience in the industry. A release said that he has held positions in claims, underwriting and house counsel and was a recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Hartwick College. Farrow received his Juris Doctor degree from CUNY School of Law and is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.

Following Farrow’s appointment, Chubb Life Sciences senior vice-president Stephen Harris will have his responsibilities expanded, the company added. Harris will oversee Chubb’s Major Accounts customer segment within the Life Sciences industry practice, and will report jointly to Farrow and Chubb North America Major Accounts division COO Matt Merna.
