Chairman of the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee

Currently in his fourth term as a US senator, Mike Crapo serves as chair of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, the Republican members of which recently called on the FDIC to ensure legal businesses could receive access to financial services. Results from the mid-term elections are also expected to have an effect on the pace of deregulation for financial institutions, as well as policies on the consumer data used by insurtech companies.
Crapo has been member of the Senate banking committee since 1999. He has also been selected to serve in various leadership roles in the 115th Congress, including chief deputy Republican whip.
